By Ken Ferris LONDON, Dec 4 (Reuters) - Tottenham Hotspur battled back for a 2-1 victory over struggling Fulham at Craven Cottage on Wednesday to ease the pressure on manager Andre Villas-Boas. But the victory, which came courtesy of Romania defender Vlad Chiriches' first goal for the club and a piledriver from substitute Lewis Holtby, only plunged Fulham deeper into trouble. (We knew) a win today would be a big boost of confidence and it fell our way," Villas-Boas told a news conference. Two moments of inspiration settled the game." The hosts took the lead through Ashkan Dejagah just before the hour after a defence-splitting pass from the unsettled Dimitar Berbatov, who was booed before kickoff after his agent said earlier on Wednesday that he wanted to leave the club.

By Toby Davis LONDON (Reuters) - Liverpool's Luis Suarez showed his devastating ability to act as a one-man wrecking ball with four goals in a 5-1 demolition of Norwich City as Arsenal's forgotten man Nicklas Bendtner jogged a few memories in the Premier League on Wednesday. Suarez delivered a dazzling collection of goal-of-the-season contenders at Anfield and Bendtner scored two minutes into his first start in more than two years to help the Premier League leaders beat Hull City 2-0. Second-placed Chelsea and Manchester City in third came through tight tussles to beat Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion, but champions Manchester United lost 1-0 at home to Everton to slip 12 points behind the leaders.

(Repeats fixing number of games in ninth para) By Mark Young LONDON, Dec 4 (Reuters) - Arsene Wenger hailed the impact of forgotten-man Nicklas Bendtner after the Danish striker scored an early goal in a comfortable 2-0 home victory over Hull City for the Premier League leaders on Wednesday. The unsettled Bendtner was a surprise starter for Arsenal in place of the in-form Olivier Giroud. "It was always a gamble (to play Bendtner) for a guy that hasn't played for a long time," Wenger told a news conference. I believe he had a really good game." Arsenal dominated Hull in the early stages with the Tigers camped in their own half for the opening 20 minutes before Wenger's team saw off a team lifted by Sunday's win over Liverpool with a second goal from Mesut Ozil.

Manchester United manager David Moyes praised his former club Everton following their first win at Old Trafford for 21 years on Wednesday. Bryan Oviedo's 86th-minute goal secured Everton's 1-0 victory as Moyes's difficult start continued at champions United, who slipped 12 points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal after 14 matches of the season. "I'm very disappointed," Moyes told the BBC after United's first defeat in 13 games. Everton kept at it and showed us what a good team they are.

* Evian beat PSG for first time in Ligue 1 with two late goals * PSG were chasing club record-equalling 37th game unbeaten * Parisians now one point head of Lille, two in front of Monaco (Adds detail) Dec 4 (Reuters) - Paris St Germain suffered a shock 2-0 defeat at lowly Evian Thonon Gaillard which ended their unbeaten run at 36 matches in all competitions on a bitterly cold night at the Parc des Sports on Wednesday. Substitute Clarck N'Sikulu and right wing Modou Sougou scored in the final 15 minutes to leave the Ligue 1 leaders, who were unbeaten in 26 league games, just one point ahead of Lille and two clear of Monaco. Evian, who had never before beaten PSG in Ligue 1, stunned the visitors in the 75th minute when Sougou pulled the ball back to N'Sikulu who steered it low into the net. Sougou added his name to the shock scoreboard with the second goal in the 87th minute as PSG did not score in a league match for the first time this season and failed to equal their own unbeaten run of 37 games dating back to the 1993-94 season.

(Adds details, quotes) Dec 4 (Reuters) - Arjen Robben scored an early goal and was later carried off after a nasty collision with the rival goalkeeper as Bayern Munich won 2-0 at Augsburg in the German Cup on Wednesday. There were initially worries that the Dutchman may have suffered ligament damage but Bayern said on their website that a first diagnosis had revealed a deep gash. Robben put Bayern ahead in the fourth minute with a typical goal, wriggling his way through the Augsburg defence and cleverly flicking home the rebound after his initial shot was saved by goalkeeper Marwin Hitz. It was Robben's fourth goal in Bayern's last five games in all competitions but his evening turned sour 10 minutes later.
