Muriel has been an excellent aquisition by Belenenses two summers ago and is the last line of defense on a stingy defensive squad. His 9 clean sheets have him sitting second in the league on a squad that sit in the Top 6 of the league.

Honourable Mention: Casillas (FC Porto), Helton Leite (Boavista)

Marcelo Goiano - Right Back (Braga)

Goiano has been a player the coach Abel has counted on this season to get his attack going from the right side and has been the most consistent right back in the league this season.

Honourable Mention: Andre Almeida (Benfica), Joao Aurelio (Guimaraes)

Eder Militao - Center Back (FC Porto)

The right back acquistion that become a center back is the best way to describe Militao. The off season acquisition has made his mark for his squad attracking the attention of some of Europe's biggest clubs.
