Portugal gets set for their final two games of qualifying for Euro 2020 in less then two weeks as they still look to clinch a spot in this summers tournament. Portugal will face Lithuania and Luxembourg and two victories will clinch Portugal a place in the 60th year anniversary edition of the tournament. Fernando Santos will be naming his squad on Thursday.
Fernando Santos will not have his normal array of players to select from as the Portugal national side players have suffered a rash of injuries that currently have them out of their respective club lineups or just returning after being out of action for an extended period of time. Santos may look at returning some players that have been away from the team for a bit of time or calling up some first timers to fill the void of the squads current injury list.
Portugal's most recent player selection in October saw Santos call up 26 players to the national side and of the 26 players called up, 7 of the players have been out of action with injury at some point from that time until now. William Carvalho, Joao Felix, Goncalo Guedes, Rafa Silva and Andre Gomes are all out of action with their clubs, while Mario Rui and Andre Silva have just returned from inury to their clubs active rosters over the past week.
