This is PSNLs Top 8 choices for center back of the National team.
# 1 - Ruben Dias - Center Back (Benfica) 22 years old
Ruben Dias is the clear first choice option for the Portuguese national side since joining the Quinas in 2018. His partnership with Pepe has provided a solid one, two in the middle of the defense. He won Nations League 2019 title with squad.
# 2 - Pepe - Center Back (FC Porto) 37 years old
Pepe has been a member of the squad since 2007 and a regular starting option when healthy, he is two caps away from becoming Portugal's all time leader in appearances by a defender. Pepe's time is nearing an end so lets enjoy whats left.
# 3 - Jose Fonte - Center Back (Lille) 35 years old
Fonte made his Portugal debut in his late twenties and is entrenched as the third option for Portugal, he started the Euro 2016 & Nations League 2019 final games.
# 4 - Ruben Semedo - Center Back (Olympiakos) 25 years old
Ruben Semedo is closing in on a regular starting eleven spot with the squad and looks to have gotten past his personal issues. He has turned in a great season in Greece and has been a member of the squad of late, still awaiting his first cap.
# 5 - Domingos Duarte - Center Back (Granada) 25 years old
Domingos Duarte has moved up the ladder as an option for the Portugal squad after a fine season in Spain with Granada, if his form continues this way look for him to be a regular member of the squad as a substitute going forward.
