Five players to watch in the Portuguese League this season.

The Portuguese league is officially four games into the new season with that we see many changes happening with clubs right until the transfer deadline.

The league which commenced August 6, 2021 will go on until the final games, which are to be played May 15, 2022. We at P.S.N.L. take a look at five new club players that Portuguese league fans should keep an eye on this upcoming season.










Roman Yaremchuk - Benfica

The Ukrainian international striker was quietly acquired by Benfica during the summer transfer window for €17M from Belgian club Gent. Yaremchuk is a big game scorer, something the club has been missing since the retirement of Jonas. Yaremchuk scored 61 goals in 152 games for Gent over four seasons at the club with 41 of those goals coming in the past two seasons.

Porto re-acquired their academy player Bruno Costa from Pacos Ferreira for a super affordable €2.5M this summer. The 24 year old midfielder was a key piece to Pacos Ferreira's 5th place finish last season and Porto are looking to uncover another gem with in the league to bulk up their squad. Costa is looking to follow in the footsteps of recent key league acquisitions in Taremi & Antonio Martinez.

Braga pounced on the acquisition of striker Mario Gonzalez from Villarreal after the Spaniard spent the season on loan with Tondela and finished in the top 5 of league scoring. The club is hoping that Gonzalez will be able to at least replicate this prior season with the much stronger Minhoto club. The 25 year old strikers €1.5M buy was a real bargain for Braga for the player known as Super Mario.
